ISCoNREM2026
The 5th International Summer Course on Natural Resources and Environmental Management Science (ISCoNREM 2026) was organized by the NREMS Master’s Program, Graduate School, IPB University, and held on 11–17 August 2026 in Bogor and Sukabumi, Indonesia.
Under the theme “Tropics on the Edge: Solving the Triple Planetary Crisis from the Equator,” the program brought together 30 students from 18 countries to explore climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution from a tropical perspective.
Through expert lectures, field visits, community engagement, and cultural activities, participants exchanged ideas, learned from local experiences, and built connections across countries and disciplines.

Theme
“Tropics on the Edge: Solving the Triple Planetary Crisis from the Equator”
Climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution are interconnected challenges affecting tropical ecosystems and communities. The theme of ISCoNREM 2026 emphasized the role of tropical regions in understanding these challenges and contributing to environmental solutions.
Through lectures, field visits, and discussions, participants explored how scientific knowledge, local experiences, and collaboration can support more sustainable management of natural resources and the environment.

Key Activities of ISCoNREM 2026
Field-Based Learning
Participants explored environmental management through visits to Situ Gede, Ciawi Dry Dam, and Situ Gunung, connecting classroom discussions with observations in the field.
Community Engagement
Share environmental knowledge with elementary and junior high school students through interactive communication activities on today’s planetary challenges.
Plenary Lectures
Learn from international experts and explore climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution through tropical ecosystem perspectives.
Cultural Immersion & Collaboration
Experience Indonesian cultural heritage through interactive activities, cross-cultural exchange, and collaboration with fellow participants.
